Butterside Down (Wednesday, Apr. 12 @ 8PM)

Savage Grace Productions presents

Butterside Down

A play by Lórien Haynes

Butterside Down is a romantic comedy – about grief. Sharp, funny, brutal, irreverent and a little bit British.

In the aftermath of Liv’s untimely death, her boyfriend, Adam, her best friend, Cat, and her sister Sally, attempt to negotiate everything between a raucous wake and releasing her worldly goods to the Jewish Women’s League.

Running the gauntlet of the five stages of grief, the thirty-something trio compete for who ranks highest on the Grief Meter, reveal unspeakable truths and fail to agree on the epitaph and allocation of earrings. Winding up in cupboards, on trains and in the emptiest Indian restaurant in England, Butterside Down explores how the young are ill equipped to lose each other. And whether, when you’ve lost the love of your life, your sense of humor can keep you alive.

Cast: Bre Blair, William Mckinney, Lorien Haynes

Butterside Down [the play formerly known as Good Grief] was workshopped by New York Stage and Film with John Slattery directing and starring Mamie Gummer, Benjamin Lawson and Charlotte Parry.
